One way is to do little things around your home to “spark joy,” so to speak. These things may sound silly and common sense at first but really think about them as they will surely help create a happier home.
1.Make your bed & Clean your room
As an adult looking for happiness, little things like making the bed first thing in the morning and cleaning the room can go a long way to boost your mood when the time comes. It’s true, you don’t need to look for happiness and joy as you can find it available in simple things.
You can also increase the cheer factor in your home even more by placingpet portraits or marine pictures on the walls. You can design and decorate your bedroom as you like. After all, taste is not taken into account. Make your room reflect your personality.
2.Don’t let your dishes or trash accumulate
A stack of unwashed dishes can serve as a source of unhappiness in any home. It gets worse if you can’t remove food debris right away. Get rid of this eye-sore and stress-inducing sight by doing the dishes almost immediately after you’ve eaten. A sink full of dishes from the whole family throughout the day can take over an hour to clean if you don’t clean them right away.
3.Repair your home & Appliances
Hire acommercial roofer to make sure that once the rainy season hits, you won’t end up with a leaky roof or a moldy attic. Get a cat door so your outdoor cats can come in and eat all the rats in your house. Invest in waterproofing to keep your home as insulated and warm as possible.
Have a checklist of things to replace or fix, such as broken electric fans or a non-working oven door. Save up to get them fixed or buy a new appliance instead. Don’t forget to maintain your cars by starting them when they are not in use.
4.Keep surfaces in order & amp; Clutter Free
It can be quite stressful to have too much clutter in your house, as if you have become one of those infamous hoarders. Home should be your castle as well as your temple of peace. It is a place you retreat to to recharge and be with your beloved family and friends.
It should not be a source of stress. One way to avoid this is to clear it. Always return everything you have taken from where it came. Always put away dishes, sewing kits, toolboxes, and art supplies after use to keep the peace.
5.Create a Wall of Gratitude & Thanksgiving
Last but not least, make a wall of gratitude and thanksgiving. Having a wall that reminds you what to be grateful for when it comes to your life will ensure that you keep your sanity and keep everything in perspective.
It can be an art project using a whiteboard or it can be an app on your phone or computer.It can even be a simple text file in Notepad. Just take note of the things you are grateful for, like being born in a first world country or having food on the table, plus a roof over your head.
